How My Health Habits Are Slowly Changing My Life

As I’m approaching 30, I feel like life is getting better. Not only do you get a better grip of yourself, but you also realize how important it is to take care of your body and mind.About a month ago, I was browsing through old photos of my friends and me. I was up until 2 in the morning just gazing upon my adolescent and early adult years. Between the nostalgia and happiness of all I’d experienced, I felt extremely sad and annoyed. You might ask why since I just told you I was a happy kid. But I was never a healthy one. My body image and self-esteem were always huge problems and up until now, I’ve felt insecure in my body. After that fateful night, I wrote down in a journal that I was done. I no longer wanted to be the person I felt growing up. I want to be healthy and develop life-long health habits – to take care of myself. And not that I haven’t been doing it for the past few years, but this time, I would take it seriously. And I have! I changed, refined, and invested in my health, body, and mind, and I started to see significant changes – which only heightens as the months go by. Here’s how I’m doing it…Ever since I was 12, exercise has been a part of my routine in one form or another. I played tennis for a few years, ran track, and eventually went on to swimming. By the time I went to college, I signed up for a gym, which I didn’t use regularly. But ever since I started dating my husband, who practices sports as a living, I’ve been following more consistent workout routines. And after my recent cold and harsh reality, I signed up for Sweat with Kayla.I have to tell you that, already, this app is changing my life. After the first month, I realized I’ve been working out basically every single day. It pushes you to do it with a single reminder on your phone. And the thrill of each activity being checked out after you’re done, yaaaaas. Unfortunately it’s a paid app, but it’s fairly cheaper than a gym subscription and you can do it in your own home.Bottom line is to find something you love to do and not something you feel obligated to do.Over the last few years, my relationship with food has changed drastically. I found out I have several health intolerances, which means I can’t eat a lot of things. That has totally shaped what I eat and how I eat it. It has been a great turning point for me. Main thing is, to have as much fresh produce at home as possible. I try to steer clear of processed foods and manage portions. It’s all a matter of balance. How My Health Habits Are Slowly Changing My LifeWith new products constantly coming out, it’s not easy to find something that actually works. My skin is going through a great period right now. Most probably because of all theses things I’ve been doing. And again, having a consistent skincare regiment helps a lot. Pick products that work best for you and, if you don’t know, visit a dermatologist and have them tell you or read beauty blogs where the writer has similar issues as you. This is as important as any other thing. If you don’t have any off-time, it’s impossible to be healthy. For me ,that means watching a TV show, reading a book, listening to a podcast, or cleaning the apartment. These are things that don’t require much attention. Make sure you take a few moments of your day to relax and do something you love. What do you do in your days to be healthier? I would love to know! How I Edit My Instagram Pictures
